Our history

Fleetmar was founded, with argentine’s capital, in 1996. In the beginning it was exclusively focused on the attention of vessels arriving Buenos Aires port.

Originally, their offices were located in Av. España 3091, Buenos Aires, inside of Tandanor Shipyard, near South Dock.

Their first operations were of coordination hiring pilot services, tugboats, mooring and harbour facilities, also we took care of crewmembers needs (migration paperwork, transfers from / to airport, medical attention).

In late 1997, they began to administrate formerly Tandanor Shipyard dock facilities in Dársena Norte; giving such services as berthing, electric power and fresh water to fishing vessels, tugboats and dredges from several companies: Hansung Ar SA, Arpepa SA, Dongah Argentina SA, Satecna Costa Afuera, Novamar SA, Surimi SA, Pesquera Arnippo SA, Hidrovia SA,  Pusamar SA, Antártida Pesquera Industrial SA, Antares Naviera SA, Mar Argentino SA, Naviera Sur Petrolera SA, Taipesar SA, Pesquera Santa Elena SA, etc.

Thanks to a commercial agreement with Tandanor SA, the agency started working with vessels arriving for repairs. Between the companies, nationals and foreign, that are and were our clients we can name: Riovia SA (Uruguay), Ballast Ham Dredging (Holland), Baggermaastschappij Boskalis bv  (Holland), Doo Sung Fisheries (Korea), Jai Won Industrial Co Ltd (Korea),  Olympo SA (Chile), Bahia Grande SA (Argentina), Split Ship Management (Croatia), Black Sea & Azou Sea (Ukraine), KSJ Corporation (Japan), Encomar SA (Uruguay), Anglo-Eastern Shipmanagement Ltd (United Kingdom) and Rickmers Reederei GmbH & Cie (Germany).

Seeing shipowners needs for a safe & quick spare parts clearance to vessels on repairs, we organized our own transportation service with specialized personnel, able to get incoming spare parts by air or sea, fulfil customs clearance, and send them to vessel in the smallest time and with reasonable prices.

At the end of 2001, Fleetmar SA signs and agency contract with Norsul Barwil Agencias Ltdas, from Brasil, for the attention of line vessels of Cia de Navegaçao Norsul, in that time part of the joint Good Hope Express, with Nippon Yusen Kaisha and CSAV.

The offices were moved to San Martin 551, Capital Federal and new personnel and equipment is hired, to attend shippers and customs brokers. The average containers movement per month, for impo and expo, was of 200 units.

By mid 2002, Norsul left the Good Hope Express, but keeps the general and bulk cargo traffic. This situation, plus Argentine crisis of late 2001, and increased in 2002, forced the company to review the way of business and to focus on specific areas.

Between 2003 and 2005, we have attended general load vessels in Campana, Zárate, Villa Constitución, General Lagos, Necochea and Bahía Blanca ports, and several vessels in Buenos Aires port, being the most important dutch dredges BEACHWAY and COSMOS 1 and passenger cruiser THE WORLD.

It is to remark that Fleetmar SA, has nearly 10 years of “life”, giving always first class services to local and foreign shipowners.
